TENCZYN CASTLE

The remaining ruins of this castle lie in the village of Rudno in the Lesser Poland voivodship, the Krakow poviat. The history of the castle dates back to 1319. In the 16th century it was transformed into a Renaissance pattern. Some say that it was supposedly more beautiful than Wawel alone! Unfortunately, in 1656 the Swedes burned it and despite attempts to rescue it by the Lubomirski family, the castle fell into disrepair.

Today is one of the attractions in the Krakow-Częstochowa Jura. We can enter the barbican, the observation tower or the courtyard of the castle. On beautiful days, we can even see the Tatras from the tower! The very approach to the castle is quite steep but short. You can also park by car just under the castle in a paid parking lot.
